Sharon has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry. After completing her General Nursing Training, she worked in hospitals in Toowoomba and Oakey, focusing on cardiac, respiratory, diabetic, and medical nursing. She earned her Bachelor in Nursing from the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) and a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management from the University of Technology Sydney.
Recently, Sharon transitioned to Diabetes Education, developing and delivering a Gestational Diabetes Education program at St Vincent’s Hospital in Toowoomba. Over the past year, she has presented Diabetes Education Programs for people with Type 2 Diabetes. Her interest in Type 1 diabetes management grew after her older son was diagnosed as a toddler.
