Home visits may be available for our regular patients, depending on clinical need and our doctor’s availability.

We value your opinion and welcome any suggestions you have that may improve our service to you. 


We have a suggestions box by the front entrance, you can also give us your feedback via the contact form, by mail or by speaking to our Practice Manager.


Complaints


If you have any complaints about the way the practice manages your information, or the way the staff or doctors have treated you, please discuss it with our Practice Manager.

  • APPOINTMENTS

    Appointments can be made by contacting our Admin. Support Team on 4666 3336. We aim to give you an appointment with the Doctor of your choice, however this depends on their availability. We have a small number of appointments available on the day for urgent requests.

    We offer telehealth and phone appointments, to eligible patients, please ask our Admin. Support Team for more information.


    Our standard appointment is 15 minutes. If you require more time than usual with your doctor, you are experiencing emotional difficulties, you need a Health Assessment, Chronic disease Care plan or review, you have more than one issue to discuss or a procedure is required please let us know when you make your appointment. 


    Please contact us with at least 24 hours notice if you want to change or cancel your appointment.

  • AFTER HOURS CARE & EMERGENCY CARE

    Our doctors are not available outside our clinic hours. For emergencies, please call 000.


    For urgent problems that cannot wait until our clinic hours please contact the Emergency Department at the Warwick Base Hospital, Locke St, Warwick (4660 3849), Toowoomba Base Hospital Emergency Department, Peachy St, Toowoomba (4616 6300) or the private Accident & Emergency Department, St Vincents’ Hospital, Scott St, Toowoomba (4690 4444).


    Kids Urgent Virtual Clinic

    Free (in the Darling Downs region) video consults with expert doctors for kids. 

    For acute conditions and concerns.

    Open 4 - 10pm every day

    For ages 0 to 16

  • HOME VISITS

    Home visits are available for regular patients who live in Allora and cannot attend the surgery due to their medical condition. Charges apply, please discuss these with your Doctor or the Admin. Support Team.

  • FEES & BILLING ARRANGEMENTS

    Consultation fees are available from the reception desk. Payment is required after your consultation.


    Aged pensioners over 75 years old, those over 65 years with a concession card, DVA patients and children 15 years and under are bulked billed. Your Doctor or Admin. Support Team will advise you if an out-of-pocket cost is likely.


    An appointment is required for all prescriptions and referrals, if attended to without a consultation a non-rebatable charge will incur.


    All fees quoted are based on standard practice fees, and don’t take into consideration private billing for consultations with Dr Elango, Dr Howson or Dr Schmidt.

  • MANAGEMENT OF YOUR PERSONAL HEALTH INFORMATION

    Medical records are confidential documents, and Allora Medical is committed to protecting your rights to privacy in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles outlined in the Privacy Act 1988. Your personal health information is kept stored securely and is only available to authorised staff members as required for your care. We have strict policies and procedures in place to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of your health information.

    Feedback is always welcome. Allora Medical is committed to quality improvement and is accredited with QPA. Please discuss any suggestions or concerns you have with our Doctors, Nurses, Practice Manager or our Admin. Support Team.

  • COMMUNICATION POLICY

    TELEPHONE:

    Telephone is the primary method of communication we use to contact our patients. Please contact our Admin. Support Team for any assistance. 


    SMS:

    With your consent, we may contact you via SMS for appointment reminders, clinical reminders and to request you book a recall or follow-up appointment.

    Please reply to appointment reminders to confirm your attendance. We may call you if your appointment has not been confirmed via SMS. 


    EMAIL:

    We ensure that all appropriate measures are taken to protect the privacy of your health information when communicating via email. We will only send information via email if it is password protected and after informing you of the privacy risks when using an unencrypted system and after gaining your consent.


    We use the encrypted system, Medical Objects to communicate with other medical practices.
