Dr. Claire Schmidt
General Practitioner
MChB Medicine (UK), BSc (Hons), FRACGP, DCH, Grad. Cert. Mental health
Dr. Claire Schmidt brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Allora Medical. Having completed her training in the United Kingdom, she specialised in pediatrics before relocating to Australia, where she spent 12 years contributing her skills to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) in primary health and emergency settings.
With a strong commitment to rural medicine, Dr. Schmidt's experience has given her valuable insight into the unique healthcare needs of communities in remote areas. She has developed a special interest in mental health and psychotherapy, recognising the significance of addressing psychological well-being alongside physical health.
In December of 2022 Dr. Schmidt became the proud owner of Allora Medical. She has made it her mission to ensure each patient who walks through the practice doors receives excellent care personalised to their needs.
Dr. Bronwen Howson
General Practitioner - on extended leave
Dr. Bronwen Howson graduated from Monash University in 1987. Before commencing general practice, she spent several years working as a resident at Western General Hospital (now Footscray hospital) in Melbourne.
Dr. Howson's areas of interest include women’s health, preventative health, psychological medicine, counselling, holistic and complementary medicine. Outside of work she enjoys being in nature, bushwalking, swimming, reading, listening to music and knitting.
Dr. Kevin To
Junior Registrar
Kevin To was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. He completed multiple degrees in the field of Sciences before earning his Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Queensland in 2021. Before starting his general practice, Kevin worked as a resident medical officer at several hospitals around Queensland, including Rockhampton Hospital, Capricorn Coast Hospital and Health Service, and The Prince Charles Hospital, in various specialties. He enjoys all facets of general practice. Outside of work, Kevin is a fan of horror movies and loves cheesecake. He also enjoys keeping fit at the gym.
Dr. Christal Kong
Junior Registrar
Dr. Christal Kong graduated from Monash University (Malaysia) in 2020. Before starting her career in general practice, she gained experience as a resident medical officer in various health services, including Mackay, Townsville, and Brisbane. Outside of her medical work, she finds joy in exercising, traveling, and exploring different cuisines.
Dr. Paulo Barac
Junior Registrar
Originally from South Sudan, Dr. Paulo Barac and his wife migrated to the Garden City in 2000. Having completed his studies, Dr Paulo joins the Allora Medical team as a Junior Registrar.

Dr. Lemya Abdalla
Geriatrician
Dr Lemya Abdalla is a Consultant Geriatrician who specialises in acute and sub-acute Geriatric medicine. Dr Abdalla graduated from the University of Gezira with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and completed MRCP exams (UK) in 2017. She has extensive experience working in internal medicine in the Middle East for over 10 years before migrating to Australia in 2014. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in 2022 having completed her basic physician training in Toowoomba and undertook Geriatric advanced training at Mater Hospital, Gold Coast University Hospital and Prince Charles Hospital. Dr Abdalla provides comprehensive outpatient geriatric services to Allora Medical Practice, whilst also holding a permanent position at Toowoomba Hospital.
